Bidrage med feedbackThis cute little chop house has all the charm and quaintness you would expect for a restaurant on Broad St. in Thomasville. The restaurant staff was excellent- very kind and professional. The food was good, but honestly I am so shocked at 2 of the food items that I had to leave a review. First of all, the croutons for the $15 salad were disgusting. They had no flavor and it was like chewing a mattress. I couldn’t finish chewing it fast enough to get it out of my mouth. The second thing that I am just appalled for a nice steakhouse. I sprung for the very overpriced filet mignon and while the steak itself was good, not the best I’ve ever had, the sauce that was on the plate I thought would be like a Demi glaze or some kind of fancy sauce. It was ketchup and bbq combined and smeared on the plate. It totally took away from the steak and I was in shock that that is what they thought they should serve on a $50 steak plate. We will never be back. The prices were WAY overpriced for what you get. Wish we would have tried a different restaurant for my birthday dinner. What a disappointment. Do better Chop House on the Bricks. Do better. No more gross ketchup sauce. Ugh!
1st time there by accident. We travelled to Thomasville on business. Found the restaurant online and strolled up dirty, hungry, and thirsty. No reservation. Walked in and we were seated uninterrupted. I recommend a reservation, but we got lucky. We order salads and bread the bread service compliments the salad perfectly). One filet and one ribeye. Both steaks prepared masterfully. We ordered the bread pudding with an intriguing ice cream. The meal and ambience were amazing. John, a fellow Texan, was charming and sincere. We will return. Thanks for a great dinner!
Out of town guests were visiting us and they suggested we try this place. None of us had ever visited before. I checked TA for reviews and discovered a couple of recent reviews were not very complimentary. I made the reservations for 5pm on a Friday night. We drove 45 minutes to get there and arrived at 5:15. We immediately were seated, and the server took our drink orders (Sweet tea, vodka tonic, and bourbon). The Restaurant was not full, but it was full by 6 pm. We ordered food about 20 minutes later (onion rings as an app), crab cakes, salads, and burgers. Some of us substituted rice or salad vs. onion rings. Server was terrific. Food delivery was a little slow, about 25 minutes, but we were happy drinking and catching up on conversations. The food was cooked perfectly. The wagyu beef dishes were cooked as ordered (medium and medium rare). The only issue we had was that one person ordered raw onions on the burger instead of cooked onions. The lady owner immediately delivered the raw onions and apologized for the error. Portions were plentiful (three of us requested to-go boxes). Prices for alcoholic drinks were in line with other restaurants. Beef prices were 10% more than local, but it was Wagyu beef, which demands a premium price! Bottom line, service was excellent, drinks and regular food is normally priced, and high-end food price was acceptable. We went in expecting to pay a few dollars more, but for the quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere, this place was a bargain compared to big city prices!
Thank you for your excellent service and delicious dinner. We had started with your smoked fish dip, moved on to the Ribeye and NY Strip, and ended with Bread Pudding. What a wonderful way to spend our 5 year anniversary. :
Great place to eat! Oysters 3 ways, delicious. Smoked whitefish starter was incredible. Had the Mahi and grilled Caesar also. Both were delicious! Our server was attentive at times and lost at other times. Menu selection was decent. Loved the decor
