The Black Horse - Test Valley

Lovely food. Roasts are very good quality, tasty and good size. (Be even better if there was a plant based option). Vegan Mushroom Bouginon was nice also. Went with a group of friends. Would recommend for Sunday lunch.

We had a lovely welcome and dinner at the Black Horse yesterday evening. Thoroughly recommend the pie and chips, last night the pie was steak and ale, it's been a long time since I've had a pie as tasty. Also want to thank the owner for her sterling efforts to reunite with my bag, I hadn't even realised it was missing! Thank you again.

My partner and I had a lovely visit to The Black Horse whilst on a trip to West Tytherley. We stopped in for dinner and a drink. Staff were friendly and helpful and were very accommodating when I asked to substitute a menu item for a vegetarian alternative. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dinners! It was a cosy atmosphere and we enjoyed our time there. I would recommend for some nice pub grub if you are in the area.

This is a great pub, lovely historic building with character, situated in the most beautiful village. The staff are great, and Lynn goes the extra mile to provide lovely home cooked meals. I can recommend the fish chips, superb!.... and the pies!

We were so disappointed with The Black Horse, we had booked a table we walked in, no one greeted us, the barman didn’t even acknowledge us! We then found and introduced ourselves to the land lady who said we could sit anywhere. We found the restaurant area and waited for 10 minutes to be brought menus or be offered a drink and no one came! We left and no one even commented!
