Bidrage med feedbackI liked the taste of salads, but at sumo salad you get more amount for a cheaper price. Nevertheless good, but for a healthy option.
I dine at this restaurant several times a week. It has a cozy atmosphere with a variety of creative vegan and vegetarian salads. They offer a selection of 5 salads made fresh daily, which always vary and taste delicious. They also have a small but lovely menu of desserts. The small box container costs $14 and is always satisfying. They also offer larger sizes. This review was last updated on January 9, 2019.
I was introduced to this restaurant a few years ago by a friend who used to buy a large tub of salads for their lunches during the week. While it is a bit pricey, the portions are generous and can last the whole week as a side dish. Before I went vegan, I also enjoyed their delicious baked goods, especially the cupcakes. I hope they start offering vegan options in the future.

It’s a takeaway shop and there are no seats inside, but it’s not too difficult to find some benches within walking distance. On the day of visit, the branch on Doggett St (near Fortitude Valley, or the Valley) has 5 out of 7-8 options that are vegan. There’s also a vegan chocolate brownie. The staff is knowledgeable of which ones are vegan, but it would be better if they are marked. The small salad box is already filling as it is filled to the brim.
The majority of salads offered at this restaurant are vegan, but it's always a good idea to ask to be sure. The staff are accommodating and knowledgeable about their products. Even the small size serving at $12 is generous, and I couldn't finish it all by myself! It's convenient that you can mix and match multiple salads in one container for variety. I also appreciate that their salad containers are made of cardboard, and their takeaway bags are paper. I tried the broccoli slaw, which was vegan and absolutely delicious with plenty of flavor. I also tried a tabbouleh-style salad and a grain salad, both of which were excellent with a good variety of flavors and well-dressed. However, the standout was definitely the broccoli slaw. The salads held up well in the heat throughout the day, lasting for hours before we finally ate them. I am looking forward to coming back!
