The Priory - Telford and Wrekin

ON the 3/1/2020 visited this hotel for a birthday meal Step 1 visit to conservatory for pre evening meal drink suprisingly no Vodka no Guiness (draught although the pump was there and only 2 beers on draught and had to search for someone to serve us Step 2 Meal in Priory Waiter was excellent nothing too much trouble professional friendly and charming step 3 Food quite a limited menu but when we ordered a sirloin steak none available given a fillet instead and although asked for it 'pink ' was well done (yuk the rest of us had lamb (noticed that there were loads in the fields on the way there from the West Country Lamb Shank fine all round although the veg was cold and the presentation from the kitchen was a bit grim just ate the lamb! Waiter v v apologetic really felt for him as he could see all was not well again dealt with professionally and charmingly Think chef may have been off and work experience person in the Kitchen: The staff reception and waiting staff were great and |I feel were let down by the lack of food and indeed vodka so maybe could all be managed better so staff are not let down saying all this we had a great evening and enjoyed looking round the building can only say come on the management of this hotel and back up your staff who are a credit to you by ensuring the food on the menu is avaible cooked and presented well served on hot plates where appropriate and is hot (also where appropriate

Simple British food, limited menu, normal prices. The restaurant is located inside the mercure hotel. I understand the concept of going there for an occasion but just keep in mind that it's not a five-star like restaurant. However the decor has something. So yes, an average restaurant but with a certain style.

Excellent food which we really enjoyed and atmosphere of the building is also good. The maître d was excellent, but sadly let down by untrained staff. They had not read the menu so asked questions like Is that a main or a starter? and lots of blank looks. We were never asked for a second drink or coffee at the end. Had to asked for the bill four times. Finally only one girl knew how I could pay by card as we were non residences. It was a bit like Fawlty Towers, the food it good and I would recommend it.

Came the other night for meal with wife food was spot on 5* quality. Didnt have to wait long for the food. Would recommend this hotel for food and drink. Have had room in the past and was happy with the cleanliness of the room

Came here for a meal with the family it’s a stunning place staff were polite only thing I wasn’t to impressed with was my chunky chips were a tad bit under cooked and we were given the wrong menus to start with but apart from that the food was amazing and i highly recommend coming here it’s beautiful, clean and very welcoming I would also like to thanks our waitress Dana who was very polite and helpful and that the meal I had was a medium well steak and it was perfectly cooked Nina thank u for your help and being so welcoming thanks again Madeley court we will be back :
