It's only a 20 minutes drive from our holiday home in Carinthia to Papillo and we are glad that we can go to this good pizzeria on short notice. Papillo has all the advantages. A large free parking area, indoor and outdoor tables, and what is most important, the pizzaiola prepares a terrific pizza in his wood fired oven. And not only the pizzas are delicious, we found also that their dessert profiteroles pistacchio was to die for. And what then is holding me back for a five point rating, dear TA friends? That is the problem, which the new management, who took over Papillo a couple of years ago, hasn't solved yet, that the waiting times increase to Biblical proportions when too many tables fill up with customers. A luxury problem you would say, but a long waiting time distract from a good experience.
Long wait for an average quality meal. If you are in for a quick bite look for other options or if you really want to visit do not order a pizza.
Personale super gentile. Frico con polenta ottimo. Dolci fatti in casa molto buoni: Volendo si può mangiare di tutto, dalla pizza alla costata di manzo o all’agnello. Prezzi giusti. Un’alternativa alle solite baite con più scelta
Ottimo servizio, disponibilità ai vegani (almeno non ridevano e mi hanno offerto alternative: verdure grigliate e funghi crusted.) Ho preso una pizza senza mozzarella e non era molto buono, avrei aggiunto più pomodoro per renderlo meno asciutto. Vorrei poi aggiungere un paio di piatti vegetariani o vegani in modo da accogliere il mercato emergente.
