Bidrage med feedbackWe had orderd the grilled lambchops thinking we would get cutlets. however, what we got was panfried chops and non too tender, which made us question the age of the lamb. The lot came accompanied with lukewarm beanpaste and rice.
The omelettes were absolutely divine, but the coffee sadly was instant! But with gorgeous views of the town church & square it was still hard to beat.
The restaurant is located centrally with a great view of the main square and cathedral. I ordered marinated pork chops and found the dish to be tasty but forgettable. My husband ordered a hamburguesa and said it was dry. Overall, the service was a bit slow but good.
La Troje is located right on the main square, and it's part of what must have been a large Hacienda and it's a great place to take pictures.I have to say that after reading past reviews on people waiting a long time to get service in restaurants in Tapalpa, I jump to the conclusion that many places in the town are not yet ready to attend large gatherings. I witnessed that in La Troje. I asked for a vodka-sauteéd filet, and about 20 minutes later the waitress came back with a regular filet. After my objection, she took the plate with her, came back in 3 minutes and told me "this is the vodka one..." She did apologize when I told her she never gave me what I had asked for. After having eaten at 4 different restaurants in Tapalpa I got the impression that there are two types of restaurants in town: Those that know how to serve large crowds and those that don't. Sad to say La Troje falls in the latter category. Too nice of a location to not enjoy a meal there.
