Luigi Tanger - Tangier

DO NOT be deceived by the positive reviews on this place. It is really, really bad. Bad service, bad attitude from waiters. I’m going to walk you through an evening here: after ariving here (2 adults and 2 children; tourists, if I may add) we waited about 20 minutes for the waiters to show us the menu. There were like 4 waiters available, avoiding us like we had the bubonic. I have to mention that the place was half empty, and we honestly didn’t have or carry the bubonic. The plague reasoning was that they didn’t speak anything else other than Arabic. And we didn’t. Speak Arabic, that is. Another 20 minutes later, we’re struggling to get someone to order to. By now we should have already left, but the kids are crying for food. Finally, we get the English speaking waiter. We order food mostly by pointing to the menu (usual habit around here for foreigners that don’t speak French, Spanish or Arabic). We ended up being waitered by the bus boy, ‘cause the waiter was busy trying to get his thing on with some girls from another table. I had the grilled tuna, my wife the sowrdfish, and the kids had the grilled salmon and lasagna. Now, I don’t know wether it was luck or not, but the food was AMAZING. Maybe the right chef was on duty. Or maybe this is the just way they normally cook. tl;dr: if you’re looking for great fish and sea food, this is the perfect place to be. If you’re willing to endure the bad, bad, bad service, that is. I give it 4/5 stars because of the delightful food, and negative stars for service.
