The New Caterham Arms - Tandridge

We ate at this carvery yesterday 16th October 2022 and had booked in advance asking for gluten free meals. The man who served us had no real idea of what was gluten free and eventually said that the Yorkshire pudding and the macaroni cheese would not be. There was no lamb left so we had beef, but the joint was tough as it was only cooked on the outside but raw in the middle. There were no potatoes left but he insisted on serving us the small remains of them still in the dish with a promise to bring more to our table later. We then asked for gluten free gravy, and he stated that it was in the jug. However, that proved not to be true. By the end of the meal, we both began to feel strange, and got home as soon as possible. Once there, we were very ill, shaky, and just collapsed into bed. For people like us whose lives depend upon eating food that is safe to us, the attitude in this carvery is very poor, so we warn you about eating there!

After being let down short notice by another venue we held our sons first birthday party here. We hired the covered decking area and it was absolutely perfect. Gerry and the team let us decorate and move tables around as we pleased. We pre ordered pizzas and added a few more on last minute they were so good and went down very well with our adults and children guests. We would definitely recommend The Caterham Arms for a party venue. The only (very small) negative comment we could make is that the garden at the rear was a little messy, being a bank holiday Monday we assumed a busy Sunday evening had been had! This didn’t take away from the brilliant time we had!

Went for a Sunday carvery with my mum and it surpassed expectations! The food was amazing, the carvery was very good and they had a dessert trolly! The staff were all so lovely and helpful. I couldn’t recommend more.

Had a delivery yesterday food was very dry. No taste and meat tough and cold. Won’t use again. Staff on phone not very helpful.

This was a big family celebration that had been booked for months. WHAT A SHAMBLES! No menus no cutlery and even worse no food! We ordered on the app to be told it wasn’t working and had to re order. That meant paying twice. Literally more then half the menu was unavailable. They knew we were coming yet they weren’t prepared. Beware. It sounds lovely.. bouncy castle, sports tv etc it was sheer chaos.
