Met up with a couple of friends for lunch. We went for the 5 small plates the food was incredible. The staff were really nice didn’t have to wait long. Definitely recommend.

One of the best in Tamworth as fantastic service all the time! Beer is always good at the right price. Always clean, bright n tidy with a good mixed clientele Thoroughly recomended!!

I ordered a large Chardonnay which was nicely chilled an of a pleasant flavour. I chose fish, chips and mushy peas which came with a generous pot of tartare sauce. The meal was hot and service was prompt and cheerful. The fish was delicious. It was flaky and of an excellent texture and the batter was crisp and pale golden brown in colour. The chips were tasty and the mushy peas among the best I have ever had. For dessert I chose sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. The pudding was certainly not sticky and was spiced which I found most odd and not at all pleasant. The whole was topped by a fairly tasteless, presumably, toffee sauce. I have to say, though, that the Phoenix is a very good town centre pub.
