Eating here is always fantastic! (possibility of veggie options also). Large beer rotation with a Euro-style focus. Good mix of local and import choices. Can be a little crowded at busy nights, but always able to find a place and a seat. Probably my favorite place to go regularly. Great food, great beer, great atmosphere!

The independents always looked inviting when we visited some of the other culinary experiences in Seminole Heights, and I'm so glad we were finally over. Especially... it's dog-friendly with an outdoor terrace, so it's a no-brainer... and come to find out that the staff is as wonderful and welcoming as the environment. But let's talk about food and beer. Big beer on tap selection! I like a stout....I like her Oatmeal stout, but her Oktoberfest Dark Beer is fantastic! Kathy generally has a white wine. Your food selection is as impressive... as an appetizer, we love the pierogis with acid cream and apple sauce on the side. For dinner I like the Indie Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Gouda cheese and beautified pears with honey. Kathy had the Pork Banh Mi and the Tempeh Reuben. All were fantastic and there are more to explore... why The Independent has become a regular stop on our list in Seminole Heights.

Love, love, love the independent!! We like the flexibility of eating in or out and pet and people kindness. The large selection of beers offered makes it almost impossible to find not one you will enjoy, and it is very likely that you will find a new favorite. Do you have a favorite brew? Simply tell the staff what it is and they will give you a sample or two to make sure you know what your taste buds you want to order.

These are my wife and I who can be seen every night of the week. Tons of beer options, live music on sunny days and ample parking (although we go). This place too, with zero exaggeration, has the absolutely best BLT I ever had in my life. It's incredible. Oh, and always the salad over the chips.

Super adorable spot with great beer and vegan options! The beer we had was amazing and the atmosphere is incredibly cozy and laid back. To eat we had the pretzel, which was great and I also the beyond burger. Would definitely recommend giving this cute little place a try!
