Gold Medal - Tameside

Went to get take out meal, some of the food order was missing, so rang them and they said fine, I went the next day to collect my money for missing items and the cook called me a liar, disgusting food, place is filthy, rude staff

I'm 40 years old and I used to be taken in Gold's by my Grandma when I was 8,9 or 10. Granny Elsie has long since passed so imagine my surprise when I stepped foot in this place today (23rd December 2022) wow the place hasn't changed even the seating looks the same. Amazing I could see my Grandma as if she was sat in the corner. So refreshing to see a business adopt the if it aint broke dont fix it approach. Aside from that the food was even better than I remembered. Big think chips not crispy burnt ends, great Gravy and us Northerners love great gravy and friendly staff. Great job guys keep up the great work.

We ordered our fish and chips from very happy, friendly staff and took our seats; the tables and chairs were clean and comfortable and the food appeared in very short time. The food was beautifully cooked and piping hot when served to us – there's no way it could be better. Highly recommended and we shall certainly call again when we next visit Ashton under Lyne.

I visited here with my Nan , It was the Best service ever! Fantastic food. The fish is amazing and tastes great with Mayo. The chips are the best.

Took my daughter in as she likes the chips to take away now and again. Wish I'd not bothered, staff were very rude, highly unwelcoming. The place itself felt grubby, the food was dry and unappetising, had to pay for sauce sachets even though we sat in and this seemed too much trouble for the young girl who served us to provide. I'm sure I'd have had a better experience in a prison canteen.
