La Matanza - TAMBO UPPER

We are telling everyone we know about this truly magical place on the hill. We had the most relaxing, fun and enjoyable family getaway. Our son loved seeing all of the animals especially the beautiful dogs and getting chicken eggs! We were amazed by the gardens and the facilities of the accommodation esp the outside room. The food that you deliver is outstanding. We still can 't get over the flavours. Your passion for producing real fresh food is so evident. It is a get away that will suit adults and children alike and we will remember our special weekend. So hope to do it again though!

Absolutely picturesque setting, very warm energetic young hosts Josh and Stephy, great fine dining options and hot spa! Our family of three adults and three young kids just spent 3 nights in a really comfortable spacious 3 bedroom cottage. Heating was more than adequate in winter there is plenty of verandah space, we would have loved to spend more time on the verandah in the warmer months. The kids loved exploring the farm, chasing the two beautiful peacocks, watching the angus cattle graze and hearing the sheep bleat. Our dog loved being able to roam freely around the property and made friends with the hosts' two border collies. We made use of the wood fireplace in the adjoining dining room for one of our own home cooked meals and also opted to go to the hosts' formal dining room for three other meals cooked by Josh. The first was a beautiful three course meal cooked with on farm produce (scotch fillet from the angus cattle, pancetta cured by josh, dessert made with citrus on farm) (kids had two courses), the second meal was Josh's freshly made pasta with lamb shoulder, and third was a cooked breakfast (kids had home made croissant and adults had croque monsieur). Of course, we managed to get away to do some touristy stuff. Buchan caves (45min drive) was one of a kind. A cruise at Lake Entrance (20min drive) also a must do. Overall a really pleasant and relaxing holiday. We wish you all the best in the opening of your very own restaurant in summer, Josh and Stephy!

I wouldn't change a thing. The host was perfect, the food was excellent, and the setting was stunning. It’s definitely at the top of our list for the best dining and accommodation experience.

This restaurant is simply perfect for a wonderful weekend in every way. The foodies will appreciate the freshest products possible; we saw the potatoes pulled from the earth, the eggs gathered from the chicken coop, and the herbs and tomatoes chosen from the beautiful gardens. Eating this fresh fare, expertly prepared by the talented chef Josh, is simply delightful! The stunning outdoor views, breathtaking sunsets, warm hospitality, and top-notch service made it hard to leave!

We had the most beautiful and dreamy experience, feeling completely pampered by Josh and Streph. The little hut was so charmingly decorated with some amazing and unique snacks. The food was absolutely delicious; Josh really knows how to bring out all the flavors. To top off the night, we were treated to a guitar serenade by Josh, who is incredibly talented. We will definitely be back!
