Alona Hidden Dream Resort - Taiwala

The restaurant, much like the hotel, provided awful service. We ordered three dishes and it took 40 minutes for one of them to arrive, and when it did, it was incorrect. After sending it back, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes before receiving our food, which was very mediocre. The Pad Thai seemed to be made by someone who had never tasted Thai food before. The crispy pig was anything but crispy, it was tough to chew, and everything tasted bland. Overall, the quality did not justify the price.

The restaurant was not so busy when we arrived and it was one of the reasons for the choice. We had to attract the attention of a waitress after about ten minutes for menus, after we had decided our choices, we had to do the...sam for someone to take our order. not sure if we had to wait for the English speaking staff. once we ordered drinks after about fifteen minutes and eat (a dish at a time) after forty. When the food arrived, everything was forgotten, it was delicious. very recommend the seafood that stole the show. the atmosphere inside the restaurant became better as it was filled, only care is that we wait 40 minutes for eating when it was quiet I was terrible thinking how long people waited when we were gone. eating is worth waiting, so they give themselves time.

Stopped in here a couple of nights ago for dinner or at least that was the plan... Waited 40 minutes to be told that what we ordered (a curry wasn 't available. I kid you not! But that wasn 't the worst part about it. During...our marathon delay I needed to use the bathroom; no paper. Asked the waitress who pretty much blew me off, so I took a pile of napkins off of one of the tables, nobody batted an eyelid... Now the punchline the toilet wouldnt flush (no water embarrassing! Step outside to wash my hands, again no running water in the sink. But there was an ice cream bucket full of dirty soapy water, that I guess many other had used. No towel or paper to dry my hands afterwards. Lovely. And of course then I return to the table to find out there was no meal coming anyway... Utter garbage all around. No food, busted washroom and service people that couldn 't give a damn. I know this is Asia (not my first trip out this way but every facet of this 'meal ' was terrible. Stay away!

We stayed here for 4 nights before flying back. It’s completely ok for the price you pay. It’s quite noisy though as the restaurant is open 24/7. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Beds are good, pillows very big. WiFi didn’t really work when...we were there, but they were trying to fix it. In fairness it worked further down the place, but never in the room or outside the room.

If you want to relax and unwind in Bohol, DO NOT EVER GO HERE!! I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE! Do not give this a second chance or whatever. Terrible customer service! Grilled food are not grilled but BURNED. When you a crew he or...she will just look at you and not even acknowledge or say wait a moment! They even lied saying they did not have tiger prawns but they had. When asked, the crew said, its for the seafood order, different price than the combo, which they could have mentioned because we are willing and can afford to pay anyway. All the staff are very rude. Lots of items not available and WORST THEY ARE SELLING PARROT FISH!!!!! Parrot fishes are vital to the ecosystem, they clean the corals!!! NO NO NO NO, Please to anyone reading this do not make the same mistake that we did!
