Devil's Reef - Tacoma

I've been trying this place for a long time. I'll be there early to get a table. Wait 40 minutes. No problem. I understand that it's a small place and was excited to see it. We have a stand and water came right away. After waiting for 20 minutes to have taken our order, we were told that we had to order from the bar. I wish someone could've told us if we sat down. We all agreed that the food was like that, but the drinks were funny, but all tasted the same. I want to try again. Maybe it was a night for her.

I visited the devil's reef several times. Maybe it's a bit hard to see your first time, but once you find a way. I usually don't get the food, it's more a after dinner gathering spot for my circle of friends. If you like rum, gin and vodka cocktails, this place is for you!

This fantastically decorated bar specializes exclusively in rum cocktails that are thoughtfully and carefully crafted tiki style drinks. The owner takes the time to make syrups, bitters, tinctures, and the like, all with an eye to producing a consistent and balanced drink. The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable, let them guide you in your drink selection, you won’t be disappointed! The food is consistently delicious with vegetarian options. The place is often packed so be sure to come early or wait… it is worth the wait!

What an awesome bar! The decor is great as you feel like you are somewhere in the tropics. Tiki theme next level! We walked in and were told it was a 45 min wait ended up getting seated like 5 mins later. We shared a seating area with another group and they were so friendly. The staff is the best part about this place. The owner goes around to each table and makes sure your are having a good time and enjoying your drinks. Great bartenders extremely knowledgeable and skilled at their craft. The drinks will topple you if you aren’t careful. They have skulls next to each drink to indicate how strong they are. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu as we had a variety. They also have a collection of rare aged rums that you won’t find elsewhere. Definitely check this place out!

Found this place through social media and had to check it out. It was walk ins only. Awesome place and great drinks. On the menu next to the drink name is skulls, more skulls indicates how strong the drink is. While we were there the place reminded us of the Tacoma Cabana that closed. So we asked staff and sure enough same owner.
