Bidrage med feedbackWe have mixed feelings about our stay. The Good:On the positive, the building we were in was quiet, the room was clean and in good repair, and the location simply can’t be beat. The Bad:We arrived VERY late due to flight issues. I’d called ahead and been assured they were open 24 hours … no worries. We arrived at 3:39am and were told their system was in end of day close out mode (or something along those lines) and they couldn’t put us in a room. I explained I had the pre-paid receipts but was told there was nothing they could do. We were eventually put in a room at 5:30am … so we missed opportunities to watch our daughter at PEP and morning colors. Additionally, I’d booked the room for Fri thru Monday and then had added Thursday after the fact (again, prepaid). The hotel insisted that I come back and check out at 11am and check back for Friday (even though it was 5:30am Friday). I told them “no” as I wasn’t going to waste another minute of our very limited time with our daughter on their processes. The remainder of our stay was in eventful, though the hotel’s only attempt at rectifying the situation was a small cheese tray.
Just wanted to do a quick shoutout about my overnight at the Maryland Inn. I arrived early after a stop and go, hour drive to get to downtown Annapolis. Beach/bridge traffic was a bear. I was so happy to hear the receptionist say sure we can get you in to a room early. And then BRANDON at the valet was so helpful. Since your room may not be in the spot where you check in they drive the car around to your historic location and he helped with my bag which I was so grateful for. There were some stairs I would have had to tackle. Room was large and clean. Even had a humidifier as they are obviously aware of the age of the buildings and the intense August heat. Stay here. You can walk to everything!!
My husband and I stayed for two nights at the Maryland Inn. The rooms are small, but larger than NYC rooms. It is a historic hotel after all. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the staff were all very accommodating. We had a chance to visit and enjoy the little bar in the basement. This hotel is convenient to everything, so we valeted our rental and walked everywhere. It was a very good experience. My cousin, who lives in Maryland, said this hotel was a must for our Annapolis experience. She was right!
There are three buildings all part of the same inn. I was put in the Maryland House, a 7 minute walk from where I checked in. There is not restaurant or any staff that I saw at the Maryland house. This really took this down from a 3 star hotel with character in a great spot to a 2 star hotel with character in a great location. I was originally put in a queen room. I had to iron my clothes and there was not enough space to set up an ironing board. I was supposed to get an upgrade from Hotels.com so I asked for that and was put in a King room with some space. Still pretty small room and very small bathroom. I was expecting a lot more. Has to leave the hotel to get breakfast. That was a pain. Very disappointing stay.
We were greeted at the Maryland Inn with a toilet stained with previous occupants’ bowel movements, dirty top sheet, stained bed skirt, and stained chairs. Issues were addressed quickly along with a promise of a bottle of wine that was never delivered. The porch had caution tape along the railing and some railing posts had rotted wood. This Inn had no front desk attendant and contacting anyone was very difficult. We walked to the check in location and were told they were having the phone system updated. The only ice machine in the building was out of order during our 3 night July stay. The Maryland Inn is a very convenient location with numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance. Valet parking service very good. Pictures attached for your review.
