Hands down THE BEST deep fried bread sticks I’ve had in Sydney!! Came here for breakfast and was not disappointed! <br/ <br/ Though I’m more of a simple breaky person (just having the fried dough and the fresh soy milk already hit the spot just right for me but their other items were pretty good too! A bit on the oily side for me so early in the morning (I went at 8am but would be perfect for brunch/lunch : <br/ <br/ If you could only get one thing.. definitely go for the deep fried breadsticks!
The fried dough sticks at this Sydney restaurant are unbeatable! They are fried to order and made in-house. It's a shame they only serve them on weekends for breakfast; otherwise, I would visit every other day to bring home a bag full to enjoy with some congee.
This restaurant is a hidden gem located on the outskirts of the main Hurstville area. The food here is authentic and made with a lot of love. The staff provides great service, and we were lucky enough to have the chef come out and chat with us. I highly recommend trying the 'Deep Fry Pork in Sweet and Sour Sauce'. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars.
We ordered a Dongbei salad with sesame paste ($15.80), sweet and sour pork ($23.80), spicy prawns ($32.80), and two bowls of rice ($2.00 each). The Dongbei salad was a pleasant surprise, with a mix of shredded carrots, cucumber, ham or spam, wood ear, bean curd, and wide flat jelly noodles tossed in a sesame sauce. Each bite offered a different texture and flavor, making it a delightful start to the meal. The sweet and sour pork exceeded my expectations, reminiscent of the Korean dish 'tang su yuk,' but even better. The crispy pork mixed well with the sweet and sour sauce, with just the right balance of vinegar. The spicy prawns packed a punch and were perfect for those who enjoy a bit of heat. The prawns were large and fresh, adding to the overall deliciousness of the dish. Although the dinner for two came out to around $40 per person, the quality and freshness of the food made it worth the price. I look forward to returning and recommending this hidden gem to my friends.
