Bidrage med feedbackWe discovered this fantastic hidden gem while searching for a place to eat after arriving in Sydney. Located in a great spot with outdoor seating, this restaurant offers an extensive menu with options ranging from small bites to Korean BBQ. We opted for dumplings, grilled eggplant, and sushi for a light meal. The variety of small plates and sushi rolls on the menu was refreshing, and everything tasted delicious. I would highly recommend this place for a nice evening out that won't break the bank.
Located just a short walk from the center of Kings Cross, this restaurant may not be immediately noticeable on a terrace, but it is definitely worth a visit. The Korean and Japanese cuisine here is delightful, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The interior is cozy on a cold night, and there is also an airy outdoor dining area for warmer weather. We enjoyed dishes such as stone pot beef bibimbap, grilled Scotch fillet with salad, tempura prawns, and two types of Korean fried chicken, all of which were delicious and a great value. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Last night for the first time. Staff and service excellent. Tempura shrimps, steamed pig dumplings and chicken beans were great. Nice touch to sleep with my first drink. The main was a Korean chicken dish that was beautiful. This is a great restaurant in the neighborhood and should be used regularly. It's so much better than the loud fat foods like Apollo nearby. Please try.
To start, I'd like to address the negatives first because I appreciate honesty. The location of this restaurant is a bit tricky to find, situated on the first floor of a commercial building where Hugo's used to be. Despite its somewhat hidden spot, I believe the restaurant deserves a better location. The menu offers a variety of Japanese dishes including Edamame, Gyoza, and impressive Tempura, but the real standout is the Sashimi chef's premium selection. I was pleasantly surprised to find Maguro-zuke, lightly marinated tuna, among the offerings. The quality of the tuna was excellent as sashimi and the Maguro-zuke was perfectly executed. Another highlight was the Sake-toro Aburi, lightly seared salmon/ocean trout belly, and the Hotate-aburi, lightly seared scallops, both unbelievably delicious. The restaurant also offers Korean dishes like Bibimpap and Ganjang chicken. I have been hoping for Sundubu-Chige, but it hasn't been added to the menu yet. If you're a fan of fatty dishes like Toro tuna belly or Wagyu, this may not be the right place for you, as the menu leans towards lighter options like Teriyaki. The staff, both front of house and in the kitchen, are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is licensed and offers BYO with an $8.00 corkage fee per bottle. I highly recommend giving this place a try, at least once!
Popped in last night for the first time. Staff and service superb. Tempura prawns, steamed pork dumplings and chicken buns were great. Nice touch to get nibbles with my first drink for free. The main was a Korean chicken dish which was beautiful. This is a great neighbourhood Asian restaurant and should be used regularly. It's so much better than the noisy greasy food places like Apollo nearby. Please try.
