Bidrage med feedbackThis chip shop was absolutely awful. I was appalled by the poor quality of the food and then shocked by the high prices. The mushy peas were disgusting, lacking in flavor and overly watery, resembling a sloppy mess.
We decided to try out the Seafarer restaurant next door because our usual spot, the Captain's Table, was closed for the evening. Despite the shock at the high prices (£32 for 3 average-sized fish, chips, and mushy peas), we brushed it off as part of the holiday experience. Unfortunately, the food turned out to be a disappointment - my fish was gray and full of bones.
Port Eynon is an interesting village with numerous campsites, a pub, a large seafront, and three fish and chip/ice cream shops all located next to each other. We decided to dine at Seafarer as we had already tried the others for ice cream and wanted to sit indoors as it was a cooler evening. The food and portion sizes were acceptable, although I was slightly disappointed that the meals did not come with sauce and had to order it separately. Additionally, the plaice was breaded rather than battered. However, overall it was a good representation of British seafront fish and chips. The ice creams were delicious and had a wide variety of flavors to choose from.
Possibly the worst fish and chips we have ever had. Vastly over priced and fish was not even battered but coated in bread crumbs and had clearly been reheated making it inedible and disgusting. At nearly £60 for 4 meals (no drinks) the whole experience was hugely disappointing.
Great customer service at Seafarer. Thank you to Anne for helping with our large family food order. We phoned ahead. Hot delicious fish and chips, lots of condiments sorted for us, friendly service. Sausage, pie, mushy peas and curry sauce all good.
