Bidrage med feedbackI've been going to Yans for at least 15 yrs. The food is excellent, no msg, not a drop of grease on any fried food! The Best! And the owners are wonderful people, very involved in the Swampscott community. Go There! You will love it!!!
Ordered take out today, and the food was excellent. Order was ready on-time, exactly as promised, neatly packaged into a brown bag.I was surprised that dinner portion of Mongolian Beef came without rice. But there was plenty of rice included with Chicken Broccoli, so we shared.
I am a frequent visitor to this restaurant, and would say the food and portions are consistently good, and the prices are what one would expect. The only exceptions are the soups. I love a good soup in a Chinese restaurant, but the ones at Yans fall below my expectations. I have had the hot and sour, egg drop and wonton soups. All are lacking in flavor, or just don't taste very good hot and sour).. They need new recipes. I will continue to eat there as the other food is very good, but I would love them to improve their soups.
Very good Chinese food. Also very fast preparation. You can tell the food is quality. Also, very affordable. I highly recommend.
Yan 's makes no mention of the massive amounts of celery they decide to include in some dishes. This has happened on two different orders, and I 'm not going to get burned a third time. When you order something called Chicken with Cashew Nuts that has no further description in the menu, you expect to receive in the dish: Chicken Cashew Nuts Hopefully some sauce Perhaps a small amount of veggies? I dunno, maybe some sorta scallions or something? I 'm not a chef...What you don 't expect to receive in the dish is: Chicken 1/4 the container filled with celery Cashews(this also goes for the Kung Pao Chicken with Peanuts that contained more celery than peanuts)I would like to emphasize: The quality of the food and flavor was perfectly fine. However, unless you 're a Celery Enthusiast, I 'd call ahead to confirm that the dish you 're looking at isn 't really a secret celery bomb.
