Bidrage med feedbackWhenever my partner and I visit Sydney, this cafe is one of the destination we everytime visit for breakfast. It has never ever let us down with its food, coffee, friendly staff and positive atmosphere.Another visit another satisfying experience and wanted to share whoever is looking for a great place to go.Trio corn fritters and italian baked eggs must be tried from breakfast menu if you are the "book kitchen" virgin. Every visit we try something we haven't had...Everything is fresh and homemade products are extremely delicious in the cafe. If you are a coffee snob, definately it won't make you upset with their coffee beans by single origin roasters. If you are not a coffee drinker, there are good amount of tea, cold ; soft and alcoholic beverage options to pick from their menu.
Been here a couple times for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Loved the corn fritters topped with poached egg, avocado salsa and smoked salmon. Nice cafe and close to Brett Whiteley gallery.
Rounded a corner heading for the Brett Whiteley Studio to find our sunlit seats outdoors at The Book Kitchen. The day was ccolldd yet the service was warm and inviting. Had a great chat with the owner about her Paris misadventure. Ordered coffees and sourdough toast with Dijon mustard, ham and melted cheese with a fried egg on top. Delicious. Really enjoyed our late breakfast as did the many who chose to dine indoors. Only complaint would be regarding the coffee - a little on the warm side rather than hot, that said would love to go there often for my breakfast.
... we found this a struggle. Cold inside (to the point the staff were wearing parkas), very slow service and cold food. The table next to us sent theirs back because it was cold; I thought about it but I was afraid of how long the replacement would take. It's a nice concept inside. A wall and a half of books on cooking, wine, coffee with plenty of tables. Just needs to think about closing the door on a cold day or turning on the heat, and a big sharpen up on service.
Had lunch at the Book Kitchen after a visit to Brett Whiteley's studio and were so happy! The food was delicious, fresh and beautifully cooked and the serves were generous! We had some 2 person cocktail carafes to go with our food and they were equally good. Staff were very pleasant and helpful!
