Bidrage med feedbackFantastic Beijing Roast Duck! This modestly sized restaurant tucked away in the Pinelands shopping centre serves a delicious version of Beijing raost duck. In their version you get the crispy skin with the succulent flesh which is beautifully presented on a duck shaped plate. We know that the ducks are lovingly prepared and roasted in house as we have seen them pumping air into the next days' ducks after the kitchen has closed for the night. Besides the roast duck the menu also features some Sichuan dishes and Northern Chinese dishes which are well worth trying. If you are going to the restaurant and want to try the duck, make sure you ring ahead and book your duck as they disappear very early!
Great small place, a genuine undiscovered gem of Brisbane with an authentic Beijing Duck plus many Szechuan dishes. It's not fine dining but it is great value! Been here many times and continue to bring different friends for a great night out. We bring our own glasses for our wine no problemo! You need to order the day before if you want the duck which is very good! Try it out and see what you think we love it!
Had dinner in a group of four at this place, where the set-up made me felt so uncomfortable, particularly the space between chair and table is so narrow. In addition, there is not small table available so you might expect to share with some strangers if you dine in yourself or with one, or even two, of your friends. Service is not attentive in such a small restaurant. Overlooked the next table ordered the Beijing Duck, which I think is too pricey. Nearby Chinese restaurant would not charge more than $40 for the same dish or even some charge under $30 but they charge....... Ordered the Traditional Kung Po Chicken, Traditional S Beijing Style Eggplant, Double Cooked Pork Belly and Stewed Fish with Picked Vegetables. They all taste average and homey, however, I wondered if it is TRADITIONAL Beijing Style. Overall it was not a satisfied dinner.
I have to admit, I was let down by this restaurant. The food was just okay and I've had better elsewhere. Despite making a reservation, we still had to wait an extra 30 minutes because our table was given away to someone else, even though we arrived 5 minutes early. It's frustrating that they accept reservations and still make customers wait. On top of everything, they only accept cash which was inconvenient.
Beijing Roast Duck offers a contemporary twist on traditional Beijing roast duck. They carve the duck in a way that includes meat with the skin, allowing for more wraps. If you've never tried Beijing Roast Duck, it's a specially roasted duck with super crispy skin that you wrap in a wrapper with sauce and green onions—it's delicious. You can choose to have the second course (soup made from the duck bones) there or take the bones home to make your own soup. The duck and side dishes like fried veggies and sizzling beef were tasty. The service was slow and inefficient, possibly due to a new server, but the meal is best enjoyed with good company. Reservations are recommended due to the restaurant's small size.
