Treibgut - Sundern

We came for a meal as a group of six four adults and two teenagers. As a good beginning, we were able to get a table on the terrace which has a nice view of the lake. After that, unfortunately, it went not...so well. The service was really slow and the waiter downright rude the four adults in the group all speak pretty good German (two are long term residents with German citizenship) but the waiter deliberately chose to not move closer to people as they ordered, nor to come back with any information re: allergies. Drinks orders were incorrect. The food itself was okay not the best burger I have ever had but still pretty good. Fried were undercooked and hard in the middle. One of our friends had a grillteller which looked nice and she said was good. We were then hoping to finish off with a nice dessert. However, after more rude service, more missed drinks orders (placed but not delivered) and a difficulty in even engaging staff as they walked past us, we decided to get the bill and leave. It’s the first time in many years that I have deliberately chosen not to leave a tip gratuity in a restaurant. To be clear none of us in the group were rude or difficult. One person was gluten-intolerant and asked, politely, about whether fries were cooked in separate oil to anything containing wheat. The restaurant was busy but not crazily so. The standard of service was therefore inexcusable. Having recently bought a property in Langscheid, we were hoping to enjoy the nice waterfront eateries. Three of the others we have tried and are all good, Treibgut not so. We won’t be going back.

I took my two elderly aunts living in Neunrade and my sister for a day out to the Sorpe Dam, it was the of April a Friday and I guess not quite Season. However, the Treibgut was open, unlike other places near bye...and having such a stunning view, we expected the same from the Food. What a horror!!! None of us finished their food, when my Sister complaint we were given a million and one excuses. How can one mess up a stable dish like a Schnitzel is beyond me but they managed to do it!!! We were the second table occupied at the restaurant so no crowd to deal with un-attentive service giving me the impression that the young lady serving was doing us a favor! Whilst it may have been out of season, the prices are certainly in season and with such lousy food I can never recommend this place.

From the outdoor terrace and also from within, one has a great view of the Sorpesee. We lunched there on a very hot day in August: two salads, one with melted goat cheese and one with fried chicken breast. If you take into account that...the salads cost no more than to euros, one gets really an excellent value for money. And a glass of nice Chardonnay for euro is also quite attractive. For lunch, I can definitely recommend this restaurant

Prima kaart, van alles wat. De Duitse gerechten die je verwacht met bijpassende prijzen. Lekker eten, vriendelijke bediening en warm aanvoelend restaurant.

Ich hatte mit meiner Frau dort ein sehr schönen Abend. Das Ambiente dort ist wirklich gut. Wir haben im Wintergarten gespeist, dort fanden wir es besonders angenehm. Wir hatte ein drei Gänge Menü und Preis Leistung war einfach super. Besonders angesprochen hat uns die Karte, da meine Frau Vegetarierin ist, passt es natürlich perfekt das das Treibgut mehrere Vegetarische und sogar Vegane Gerichte anbietet. Aber auch ich, der Leidenschaftlicher Fleischesser ist kam nicht zu kurz. Wir werden auf jeden Fall öfters dort hin gehen.
