In the heart of Sunderland is Marcellos, the best Italian restaurant in the city. His owner Genaro used his father's name when he opened this elegant place. Their children, third generation but already English, help in the business, both speak English and Italian and one of them defends in Spanish. The exquisite menu, both in pasta and in other options. The wine letter very wide, being the best Italians. The select yet relaxed environment, incredible attention and prices for nothing high, taking into account the characteristics of the place and quality of the service meal. Been to this restaurant a couple of times and it’s been amazing every time. The food is lovely, great vegetarian options and they cater to any adjustments you might need ie not cooked with alcohol. Beautiful setting, also really close to uni so a good place to go for lunch between lectures. Staff are great, ultimately a 10/10 restaurant experience.
