Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant was booked, but it maitrede suggested that I eat at the bar. we had the carving and the steak, both were decent, not great. barman was incessant. the waiter was unattended. overall, simple questions were asked and comments were completely ignored by both. Hopefully, the restaurant service is better, but I cancelled our reservation for the following evening as I was not willing to risk it.
Great meal. Beef talloin was great. scallops were perfect. the price was as expected. server was okay, but not personal. thanks for the meal.
My wife and I dined here on two occasions when we stayed at the hotel that the restaurant is part of. Staff were extremely friendly throughout, and we had the choice of inside or outside dining. As the interior courtyard is very nice and the...evening temperatures were very pleasant, we dined outside both nights. Wasps were present, following the long hot summer, but the staff had set up traps to make their nuisance a minimum. We tried the Ueberrasschungsmenu the first night, which is a five-course surprise' menu, and regular à la carte dining the second night, with a soup and a main course. Both nights, the food was very delicious and well presented, and we enjoyed it to the last bite. The accompanying wines were good, too. We can certainly recommend the restaurant, but reservations in time are a good idea, as the place does business for guests not staying at the hotel also.
We stayed at the Waldhotel Stuttgart for two nights. We avoided eating at the Finch Restaurant the first night thinking that people probably dressed up for dinner, and we were pretty tired that night. We therefore ate at the bar. The food comes from the...same kitchen as the Finch Restaurant. They just have a limited menu at the bar. I ordered a club sandwich with egg which was the best club sandwich I have ever eaten. Excellent! We had breakfast in the Finch. A buffet is laid out in the adjoining room; and you can either sit there or sit in the Finch Restaurant. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. It seemed that you couldn't order off the menu, just the buffet was available. We did eat dinner on our second night at the Finch and saw that people dressed casually. We saw several people in jeans. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered a cream soup with scallops. For dessert we shared an apple tart with ice cream. Food was good. Service was friendly but a bit formal. Also, the wait for the food was very long, even the wait for dessert. We thought at one point that they had forgotten the dessert order and we were going to cancel it. But they said it was on its way. The Finch restaurant has nice intimate booths which are nice for a romantic dinner. If you're staying at the Waldhotel Stuttgart, it is very convenient to come down and eat at this restaurant. We didn't see any other places to eat in the area within walking distance.
I am so happy we choose to stay in the hotel for dinner because I was pleasantly surprised by a delicious meal. You can tell the chef takes great pride in his dishes! Will come again!
