Restaurant Zur Fahre - Strausberg

After the trip to Berlin we are hungry and after accidental stops in Strausberg, we choose to visit this restaurant and try it. The weather was perfect and the garden was full and perfect. I wanted to taste a traditional German cuisine, so I ordered Schnitzel with fries (yes, I know, experimenter and the second meal was fish with potatoes and salad. Because the garden was really full, we had to wait longer than usual to get our drink and food. The asparagus soup was tasty, but I don't know, it tasted different than I used to, just made from the boulevard and pair of asparagus and at the end of the cooking process there were only a few asparagus added, it wasn't that kind of mixed asparagus soup as I like to do at home or get into the chic restaurants, only served from asparagus, vegetables, some potatoes, nice. The scavenger covered with bread crumbs was not crispy at all, he took a bath in oil in the pan, but the meat was good, it was edible, but I had better one for sure. The fish was definitely better and tasted really good, even the potatoes. It was light, not oily, served with vegetables and well cooked potatoes, nothing to criticize here. Overall, this restorative is worth a try and I can imagine that for many people this restaurant is every day or every weekend on their trip to the lake or through the city of Strausberg. Quality is standard, service is nice and hard working, but unfortunately no terrifying experience. However, please keep this standard in your region:

Menu was only in German (thanks to Google Translate) but waitress tried to help, although only English spoken and the service was otherwise good. Meals were good and the steak was cooked as ordered medium.

Mit einer Gruppe wollten wir an einem Sonntag Abend um 19.30 Uhr reservieren. Erst wollte man die Reservierung nicht annehmen, da es zu spät war. Es klappte dann doch und wir wurden trotz des schönen Wetters in den Gastraum gesetzt. Leider ist das Ambiente dort sehr nüchtern, nicht wirklich ansprechend. Die Beleuchtung war eine Katastrophe (bestand aus einer eingebauten Deckenbeleuchtung und einer IKEA-Stehlampe). Der Servicemitarbeiter meinte, es wäre schön, wenn wir alle das gleiche Essen bestellen würden, denn die Küche sei seit sechs Uhr auf den Beinen und eigentlich durch. Hmmm....Wir haben uns nicht für die gleichen Gerichte entschieden, nur bei der Vorspeise bestellte der Großteil der Gruppe das Würzfleisch und das war gut. Bei den Salaten fehlte das Dressing und dieser wurde leider in viel zu kleinen Schälchen serviert (schlecht zu essen). Die Hauptgänge waren ok, keine Glanzleistung aber essbar. Das Schnitzel mit Spargel war in Hollandaise ertränkt, das Steak nicht wirklich von guter Qualität. Der Service war bemüht, aber verbesserungswürdig. Wenn wir nochmal in der Gegend sind, würde ich nur noch im Garten Platz nehmen, dieser war sehr schön.

Wir waren mittags hier als Familie.Das Essen war in Ordnung,aber nichts besonderes.Wir haben länger warten müssen,da viel los war.Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.Wir würden wiederkommen,wenn es passt.Gute deutsche Küche.
