Bidrage med feedbackI absolutely adore Gowlland Harbour. Every time we have visited, we have had wonderful experiences and made lasting memories. The upgraded rooms were fantastic and the staff were exceptionally friendly.
The service at this resort was very poor. There was no staff available during our two-night stay. No one answered the after-hours number for assistance. The advertised facilities were not available, as the sauna and whirlpool were both out of order and the putting green lacked equipment. The restaurant was also closed. Despite our suite being clean, many of the lights were burnt out. Finding our suite was difficult, with instructions located outside the reception building along with our key. Arriving at night, we had to use our phone flashlight to navigate the slippery wooden deck to reach our cove house. It was surprising to find no employees present on a Monday at 11 o'clock. The resort is a nice place, but it is recommended to visit with some locals who prioritize guest care.
We stayed in a high-time suite and the view was spectacular. It was nice to watch the cormorants fighting for fish with the seagulls. The suite was clean, but it did not have a gourmet kitchen with small glass plates and only two non-steak knives. The price for our stay in late November was reasonable. However, there was some frustration with the non-working TV due to lack of communication with management, who blamed the cable company. There is a large private shower that guests can use. Be careful walking on the docks, as they need maintenance. I would not recommend using the BBQ area as it seemed dirty and not well-maintained. Despite some small issues, it is a peaceful and beautiful place to stay.
Worst customer service, the manager is very rude and their mood changes very quickly. I had booked online and got an email saying it was pending confirmation from the resort. Now, our travel dates are not yet received a confirmation, so we just show ourselves incase, and we were a late check-in due to my work plan. No one would answer the phone, there was no late check-in instructions, so we actually ended the ferry back to campbell river in this night to find somewhere else. the next day the manager called and we arranged for our stay in the night and she was very nice and explained his new system and that they worked out bugs. she apologized and was willing to give us a free night, which unfortunately we couldn't stay because we had to work on Monday. a few weeks after our stay she contacted me by e-mail saying my card would not work if I were asked to confirm that I would only be charged one night, she got snuck with me saying good we only invite her for one night if she thinks she won't give us up. I was crazy with her attitude. very up and down, nice to me a minute, unprofessional the next, they are very hard to get and unreliable. I have read that they are new owners so they may not be cut out for the hotel business.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ACCOMMODATION! My wife and I recently spent 4 days at the resort staying in the Beach House and definitely worth the price! The setting was superb, perched on the rock at the oceans edge. Lots of space to relax inside and a huge deck to sit on outside. The management team is extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We highly recommended this resort and Quadra Island for a weekend (or longer escape!
