The venue is nice, the food is awful. The steak was £26 and was very chewy and not a good quality cut. The burger was raw and full of hard bits! The salad came with no dressing. Very disappointed, they seemed to be short staffed so service for drinks took longer. Overall it wasn’t great and definitely will not be returning.
Nice food although we only had salads so hard to get that wrong and pleasant staff. Unfortunately, as we were the only table occupied, the kitchen staff decided to close before we even had a chance to decide if we’d like desserts! Disappointing although understandable.
To be fair to the restaurant, I have not tried the food and can’t comment on quality. I can comment on customer service and general lack of organisation. My family (4 people) tried to eat here twice in three days. We made a reservation on OpenTable on Saturday, but when we arrived the restaurant was booked for a private party and we ended up running to make Cox’s Yard before the kitchen closed (Cox’s Yard I can recommend for decent food, fast service… and a kitchen that actually takes orders to 9 pm). On Monday we arrived and were told at the entrance that food was still being served so we sat down. The ordering app wasn’t working but we grabbed some menus from a neighbouring table so we knew what we wanted before the server came back. By the time anyone appeared again (10 minutes), we were told it was now too late and kitchen was closed for orders. Back to Cox’s Yard for a second visit. Having been stung twice by service issue, I am hesitant to book a third time in case we are let down again.
Gret food, very helpful staff, lots of seating in outdoors,overall a good place to visit
