Bidrage med feedbackAfter booking for my birthday with friends I was booked in on the telephone with a very friendly man that gave me a great deal of hope and looking forward to my evening. On arrival we were greeted by the two staff on that night neither said hello or smiled or warm welcome he just grabbed menus and took us to the table assuming that it was my booking. After very close to 15 minutes no one has been up and asked us if we would like a drink. When the drink order had been taken a bottle of white wine, there was no thank you very much be back in a moment or a smile he just walked away not a word spoken. When we were ready to order we waited another 10 minutes and we had to call one of them over. Again the order was taken no thank you no smile and just walked away. At this point I was embarrassed with my friends that I'd gone to somewhere where we didn't seem to be appreciated or welcomed. The starters were lovely we all enjoyed those very much. The main courses came a bit after the bowls which were stone cold, and asked the lsd if we could have hot bowls he just sniggered and walked away.. When the food arrived it was all in cold dishes with no heaters on the table and so after about a quarter of the food was eaten it was cold and I do not like cold food that is supposed to be hot. Neither staff asked if everything was alright. I think this sort of service is totally unacceptable. We asked for the bill and that came and when we made payment, again there was not a thank you there was not a murmur of a word or smile from either of them or goodnight where left. This what's the first experience for all of us to Sans and to be honest I could not recommend it to anybody with the service we had and unfriendly staff that aren't bothered if you there.
This is based on a take away which was served within 5 minutes of ordering. That tells me that the meal is not freshly prepared. The quality was ok but nothing special.
We have used this restaurant to eat in and out over the last two years, we live hear . We stopped eating in because the portion size were not value for money . We have just started to try the takeaway dishes after about 8 months. Last week we never got the lettuce for our starter and the vegetable portion in the veg curry was just about acceptable. The curry sauce wasn't a good consistency. We tried again this Saturday it was 100% worse I'm sorry to say. The food was just warm ,the lettuce was on the turn of going brown and the smallest leaves I have ever seen. The vegi curry there were hardly any vegetables in it,less than 30% I would estimate. The curry sauce was like water! I appreciate that the price of food has gone up, but you should not let the quality down! I'm sorry but the price you charge the quality should be good. Unless you landlord is ripping you off . No excuse for warm food either, we had to wait for the food so it should have been hot. We live 2mins away! And please I am a chef locally also. We went to Devon two weeks ago had a takeaway, the food was reasonable price and excellent quality and portions. I'm not saying your portion should be massive by the way but the quality should be. Your competitor down the road I would never have food from them again . I hope you listen,I will try you again in a few months so I hope I have a better experience. Andrew
This was a rare occasion for us to have a meal out since it’s expensive to eat out as a family these days. We decided to travel half an hours drive to visit Sans, which made it even more disappointing. The atmosphere was underwhelming as was the welcome. The staff aren’t unpleasant, but just quiet and not very warm. We decided to potentially spend a bit more money and treat ourselves to a special buffet menu to share between us, so that our children could try some other dishes. However, both the waitress and the manager were un accommodating in changing just one of the five dishes to a beef chow mein, since one of the dishes was very spicy and not ideal for the children. After explaining that we were prepared to spend over £90 for a meal, we didn’t even think that such a minor change would be such a big problem. It really put a dampener on the mood and we were baffled why such a small request could not be accommodated. After being forced to order separately from the menu, two of the dishes were nice, however the remaining ones were underwhelming. We’d saved up to have a special meal out and were left feeling upset and disappointed. Such a small request could’ve dramatically changed the course of the evening. It’s a shame the management couldn’t see this. Many other restaurants would go above and beyond to help and appreciate their diners. Please respect your customers wishes remember it could be a special occasion for them.
We enjoyed an excellent meal and were very well looked after. I am gluten free and I was very impressed by the choices that I had. A highlight for me was the fact that I could have a gluten free pineapple fritter! Would definitely recommend Sans Restaurant. Thank you
