Bidrage med feedbackMust try if you're a Korean food (especially kbbq) lover! Out of the many Korean restaurants I've been to around the metro detroit area, this is easily one of my top picks. Loved all of their banchan and service was excellent. We came in around 830pm and ended up staying a little past 10 to finish our food (grilling all the meat took some time), which is their close time. We felt so bad but they were so friendly and understanding about it. Ordered combo C with 2 orders of the dinner special: galbi soondubu and galbi naengmyun. We also switched out the shrimp from combo c for samgyupsal. This was a very generous amount for a party of 6. Their galbi marinade was on point and their salad perfectly balanced out the grease we got so many extra orders of it bc it was so good! Another plus is that they have a spacious parking lot so parking will most likely not be a problem at all.
Probably the worst Korean BBQ I've ever had. Having lived in LA and been to Korea, I have a certain expectation for KBBQ that was not met here and I am beginning to think can't be met anywhere in Michigan. For starters, the meat is not unlimited like you'll see in LA. You pay for each reload which is a massive downside for me. Then, the quality of the meat itself just was not that good for me. I felt the pork belly was dry and bland, the Shrimp tasted like Kroger frozen shrimp, not the usual prawn style with the whiskers that you'll see at KBBQ places. Service was slow and inattentive and the prices were just astronomical for what you got. Places like this really just make me miss LA a lot.
You can never get disappointed by Chung Ki Wa. Got their military stew this time. And SOO MUCH meat! Literally the whole bowl is filled with a variety of protein. From spam to sausages to meatballs. Flavor is excellent! Usually military stew is filled with cheap ramen... not the case here. You get a meat stew .
This place never disappoints. From the bonchon mini side dishes they provide to the seafood pancake, japchae, bibimbap, and soondubu. The seafood pancake has big chunks of squid and scallions. 2-3 slices alone will fill you up because it's so big. The japchae is filled with so many veggies and although the noodles look light, the flavor is far from light. The sizzling pot for the bibimbap provides extra texture to the rice making it crispy. The runny egg makes the dish extra rich while the sauce gives it a spice kick. The seafood soondubu is a spicy yet comforting soup to warm up your soul. The service is always quick and the staff is attentive. Definitely recommend this place.
We tried the BBQ here for the first time. The food is good overall but the table was leaking juice from the meat. We noticed it when we were leaving. Luckily we didn't get any juice on our shoes or pants, but not expecting the table to leak. We were fine with cooking the meat ourselves, but the waitress insisted on helping us. Somehow she turned the fire off while the meat was not thoroughly cooked, and we had to find someone to fix it later. We think the meat would taste better if it was cooked at once instead of having a cooling period in between.
