New Hong Kong Chinese And Malaysian Restaurant

Whenever we're in Stawell and craving our favorite meal, we always head to New Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, with excellent flavors and generous portions. The service is also top-notch. Today we enjoyed a fantastic lunch which included our favorite dessert of banana fritters with ice cream and maple syrup. It's always a treat to dine here, even though the prices are a bit on the higher side.

I was not impressed with the special fried rice at this restaurant. It lacked the special ingredients typically found in special fried rice, such as eggs and meat. Instead, it only had small cubes of ham and no bean sprouts. The portion size was very small and did not fill us up. Additionally, the pork in the sweet and sour pork dish was average at best. The server could have been friendlier and the portion sizes need to be larger. The dining room was also not very warm.

My wife and I visited this restaurant during a business trip to Stawell. This small town in the Wimmera region has obviously been affected by the significant decline in tourism due to COVID-19. There were many empty shops available for lease. We were delighted to see The Happy restaurant bustling with happy customers being served inside and taking away. We enjoyed a chicken and sweet corn soup (perfect for a cold night) and two gluten-free dishes - sweet and sour pork and Szechuan chicken. Both dishes were superbly cooked with fresh, crisp vegetables. It was refreshing to find such high quality food in a regional Australian restaurant. The flavors were spot on and the ingredients were fresh. The staff were very attentive and eager to please. Overall, a great dining experience!

Recently eaten in this restaurant with our teenage children. while the service is good, eating was extremely disappointing. mehle, sticky sauces without taste, boiled vegetables and roasted rice. my children who normally eat as if they had not seen a food for a month would have proposed 2 min. only to drink alcohol-free drinks, tea/coffee or water. very disappointing, so they miss it.

We ordered our dinner here with no expectations. We were pleasantly surprised and loved all our meals. The Honey Chicken was one of the best we have ever had. We also really enjoyed the Singapore noodles, Sweet and Sour Pork and the fried rice. Everything...we ordered we loved.
