The Coffee Club - STANHOPE GARDENS

This place is quite disappointing. I visited several times in hopes that it would improve, but unfortunately, it has gotten worse. I found the tea to be a better option than the coffee, despite the name of the cafe. We both ordered the same tea, but received teapots of different sizes. We had to ask for a new cup when the first one was dirty. My carrot cake was stale and was only topped with chocolate sauce. The final straw was when we were seated near someone who was smoking an e-cigarette.

I ordered the pumpkin sweet potato soup, which was topped with pumpkin seeds. I didn't realize that the seeds were included since there was no mention of them. I tried to remove them, but there were too many, and the ones that had sunk into the soup made it inedible. So, I asked for a new bowl of soup. It took another 10 minutes to arrive, and when it finally did, it was quite bland compared to the first bowl. Additionally, the straws they provided were inadequate; mine broke halfway through my ice cream.

Great food, delicious coffee, and amazing ice cream. Thank you to the incredibly friendly staff!
