Bluebird Cafe - Stanford

I will begin by seeing my hot brown nothing like the picture- but it was still great tasting- so oh good! This restaurant is a jewel for this area because there are some other places outside of Lexington where you can get high quality food like this. The menu had many options and the atmosphere was also good. It was surprisingly much too busy, which was a welcome sight. We have the hot brown and then a vinaiigrette salad with black fish. We were surprised how much fish they actually gave us, but also how little hot brown we got. But no problems because we shared and it was more than enough for both of us. Also the quality of food (especially not the normal roasted whatever) was welcome and this will be a clear repetition for us.

Diner is very nice and clean. Host was very friendly. She set us up. My friend ordered BLT with homemade potato chips and fried green tomatoes. I had Smokehouse Pasta. We were both happy with our food. I would have given them five, but the sound from the kitchen was very loud. It was very disturbing because of the hearing aid.

I had the French toast breakfast and it was good. My husband had the Bluebird Omlet and later the Smokehouse Pasta he loved. The cheese mouse dessert was very delicious. The restaurant was clean. The staff was friendly, but had some difficulty getting replenishment, going full order and food. It wasn't busy at the time. Maybe it was just a fuke.

I just had the Cumberland Falls Chicken Sandwich. It was the best chicken sandwich I ever had. The quality of the chicken was excellent. There was only the correct amount of each topping, all fresh and high quality. I'll take the trip to Stanford to get it back.

Bluebird has been my go-to for wholesome eats for YEARS. There’s something about this place that resets my soul. Thanks for always being great!
