I discovered this place a few months ago when I was obsessed to find a great Italian sub. The reviews were so good and the menu looked very promising so I had to try. This place has been here for almost 30 years and no one has told me about it. I would be tempted to call it a well kept secret, but it is so popular and so overcrowded during the short hours it's obviously not opening a secret. The crumpled dining room is packed during lunchtime, most of the seats are longer, common tables, even the area where you stand in line to place an order, barely allows two people to pass each other. A hard working kitchen staff is engaged in a tiny kitchen to make a lot of food, including lots of picking up orders and most of what I had was very good the hot Italiano on rosemary sourdough bread and a very credible reubs among the sandwiches I enjoyed. But I wasn't too happy with a soup and sandwich speciality I tried one day with a spicy yam and peanut soup with half a muffaletta; the cup of soup turned out to be closer to two cups, and it was quite boring and not spicy at all, and the olive salad on the muff was just a few coarsely chopped olives. I haven't tried pasta dishes yet, but I'll come to them. The sandwiches here do not rise to the level of excellence and inventiveness of, say, Local Foods in the village or Revival market at the heights, but for Stafford they are excellent.
Great sandwich and good prices. Taxes included, cool idea! A good fast place to get a healthy lunch.
Looks like a dive, but serves good food at a decent price. Mostly sandwiches and a few ducks. Good place for lunch when you are in the neighborhood, but not a destination restaurant. I recommend the muffelotta
Absolute favourite restaurant! Fresh and savory is authentic, unique and the service is warmhearted. Go once and I will guarantee that you do not regret it, go twice and they can only remember your name and what you have ordered. Consistent food and staff. Long life to F
Excellent restaurant the name says it all. Unique and small very owner friendly. This little gem has been around for a long while. The food is consistently good and fresh. This restaurant has a regular lunch clientele, because the food is beautiful and reasonably priced. If you're looking for a healthy menu to have several plates to choose from. Best time to go might be after the lunch crowd around 1:30pm. For desert you must try the chocolate cheese cake, it is out of this world!
