Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is one of my favorite spots for delicious Japanese cuisine. The communal group table is beautifully decorated, and the seared tuna machi is a standout dish that never disappoints. It's absolutely delicious and always hits the spot.
I started my meal with a warm flask of Junmai Ginjo sake, which was reasonably priced at $19 for 300ml. Opting for a grazing mood, I ordered a few dishes from the entree selection. The prawn gyoza was delicious, served on a black plate with a soy dipping sauce. I also tried the unagi, which was flavorful, moist, and generously portioned for just $10.90. Although I wanted to try more dishes, I had to save room for cheese from a new fromagerie on Acland Street. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Izakaya Tomodachi and look forward to returning to explore more of their menu.
I decided to satisfy my newfound craving for Japanese cuisine by trying out this new Izakaya restaurant on Fitzroy Street for lunch on Saturday.
Decent wine list, and that's where the good points end.
The restaurant was empty but the food was outstanding. 20 Japanese businessmen in the private room said it all, this is a restaurant not to be missed.
