China-House Restaurant - St. John's

This Chinese restaurant is a hidden gem. It is just a short walk from the pension and a great place to eat a little of the main roads. Authentic Chinese cuisine and large owners.

The food was bland and strange. The server coughed the entire visit without covering the mouth. It was disgusting.

Stopped by China House for some mostly reliable good Chinese food, just the basics chicken balls, rice and ginger beef. It was probably the worst Chinese food I ever had. You have to have a new cook or something, I've eaten a lot there... before and it was always very good. This is my first time there in probably a few months, something has definitely changed. The rice was gummy and bland, and the ginger beef had no ginger taste, it was just not good. Maybe I have them on a bad day or something, but I won't go back.

A recent trip to China House confirmed my last impression. The restaurant was spacious and beautifully decorated. The chairs and tablecloths were almost invisible in other local restaurants in the city. Most had such in banquets and weddings, but this place... will always be clean, bright and comfortable when you go. The food was great. The cook has many special authentic Chinese dishes, not only for North Amercian taste, but also for the Chinese students community, which often tastes their home far from home. If you like spicy dishes, this will be the place to hang. Some of their dishes are very unique and not available in other restaurants. They even posted new dishes (not in the menu) to keep their customers updated. Good food, good service and many parking spaces at the shopping center entrance and good for social meetings as well as via the dining table. I'll go.

Nice waitress, seems like a clean restaurant, very cheap dinnerware, etc. I would not go our of my way to go here again.
