Bidrage med feedbackI expected this restaurant to be more upscale given its prime location.
Thursday night has a good musical act, talented guitarist with good voice.Food was good and tasty however underwhelming for price. Wings were great. The duck wings were good but different. A bit of an acquired taste but worth to try. Onion rings excellent. Beer selection was good. Italian lager, chocolate and coffee stout were the favourites with our group. Good choice and will return.
We got seated but 30 minutes later and we still hadn't seen a staff . We were at the bar!!! We walked out and went somewhere else....
Stopped in for lunch. The menu is not great and not much available for kids. The serving sizes were quite small for the price. Will not be returning to a Bier Markt, here or elsewhere.
I'm going to start off with how EXCELLENT the customer service was. 2 of our party wanted to eat vegan and had researched the menu online and saw several items that were suitable. When we arrived those items were no longer available as the menu had changed, but the online menu had not been updated. The disappointment was mentioned to the waitress who passed it to the manager. To his credit not only did the manager come out to apologize, but he had actually gone to the kitchen to see if the kitchen would be able to prepare the desired items--they were and the manager offered to have the kitchen prepare these dishes AND he had already emailed head office to update the online menus. Without a doubt this is about the best customer service we have received for anything, not just in a restaurant. WELL DONE.Now for the food and drink. What more can I say than about 100 different beers...something for everyone. They also have tasting flytes- half bottle trial sizes of up to 6 of the different beers they have. For the record I sampled the beers with more hops as that's what I like.We started off with charcuterie platters...one vegan and one a mix of meats and cheeses. Again there is so much variety and the patron puts together their own platters from a variety of vegetables, meats, seafood items and/or cheeses. All of it was delicious, well prepared and abundant. The 2 veggie mains were a cauliflower steak on a bed of quinoa, Primavera mussels and I had the striploin steak with mashed potatoes and veg all with a peppercorn sauce. Done exactly to medium rare as requested, and the sauce was delicious.Too much food but we managed to share an order of the freshly prepared cinnamon sugar donuts. The food alone will definitely have us coming back, but with the level of service from the wait staff and the courtesy shown by the manager I would rate this as one of the top 2 restaurant experiences I've had since moving to Newfoundland.
