Bidrage med feedbackThe food is awesome! I've had the unfortunate pleasure of a 9 day stay in ICU. While here I tried a variety of dishes and highly recommend them all. This picture was of my dinner last night: flat iron steak, salmon, baked mac cheese, caramel cheesecake and a coke. It was all so delicious that we'll most likely return to eat here next time we're in town... Update 21feb2018 Breakfast: Western omelette, Cinnamon Swirl French toast, Bacon Juice (Discharge today :
The cashier was so sweet accommodating when we were there Thursday night
Not many people get excited about hospital food. However, the Sandstone Cafe at Dixie Regional Medical Center has many options to choose from. They have warm and cold sandwiches and several other daily cooked entrees with different side options to choose from. The menu rotates every day. The chefs are great. This doesn't taste like your standard Sysco food. It actually involves some preparation and is a much healthier option compared to most restaurants. The best part is that the prices are very low. It is hard to even find fast food for the price that you can buy a meal here. I highly recommend that you try it.
Chuck does a fantastic job with every customer. He has become friends with half of the hospital. He makes a deadly pastrami bacon melt, but most refer to his sandwiches as 'the Chuck special '. Best hospital food you 'll ever find. Good price too. The majority of staff here are all smiling and enjoying their work.
Is it weird that I've eaten here for years? When I tell people I am purposely going out of my way to go to the hospital to get food I have to give an explanation. Which is along the lines of; they have a wide selection every day, it's all relatively healthy of course, it's very inexpensive, it's fast, and i usually get a giant salad that I eat for two meals. It ends up being two healthymeals for like 8 bucks, I mean come on. On the mention of the salad I need to ask a question though. Onions? Am I missing them all the time or is it just not a thing? Got like three kinds of cheese and hard boiled eggs, no onions. Lol.
