Bidrage med feedbackWe dined at The Plough on the first Sunday after it reopened under new management. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience. My husband's beef was mostly fat and some of the vegetables arrived late, while others listed on the menu had to be requested and only came out after we were nearly done with our meal. The plates were not heated, causing our food to quickly become cold. Overall, the experience felt chaotic and we felt that the meal was overpriced for what we received. The Plough has since closed again due to fire regulations, but we hope they will reopen and strive to reach the standard set by the previous owners, as we have always enjoyed great food at this pub in the past.
After seeing Rede on TV a while back, my partner and I decided to visit this charming village. Following a trip to a nearby plant centre a few weeks ago, we stopped by Rede for a drink. The menu board caught our eye, especially the seabass dish, so we made a reservation for the weekend. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the landlord and his wife. We ordered our starters and mains and were shown to our table with lovely views of the gardens. The atmosphere was quiet, with only one other couple who were regulars and spoke highly of the place. Our starters were delicious - I had the ham hock terrine with crusty bread, while my partner enjoyed the whitebait. The mains, seabass with pasta and Stilton chicken with potatoes and veggies, were cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable, with the young waitresses attending to us professionally and warmly. We ended our meal with a junkyard dessert and cheesecake, followed by coffee. Our waitress, Macy, was attentive and we left feeling satisfied and pleased with the experience. The pub has a long history, with the landlord having been there for 40 years and the building dating back to early Tudor times. I can't wait to go back and highly recommend this charming pub with exceptional staff and delicious food. Ten stars!
I had a wonderful dining experience at this charming countryside pub. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, the menu was diverse, and the staff was friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal here with a friend.
Great food, friendly staff. Roast dinner was hot and good choice of veg. Meat cooked to perfection served to us by 2 young ladies, very polite. Would visit again most definitely.
Visited this pub based on reviews on here and we were not disappointed. The pub is in a small village off the main roads but well worth searching out. The portions were generous and food was prepared beautifully. We had a range of dishes and they were all good. The people running the pub were lovely too. My only surprise was that it wasn’t busier! Definitely will go back
