Chop Shop Artisan Butcher

Went to the grand opening of the new location in Silver leaf today and was so impressed... They were helpful, knowledgeable and so friendly. I asked about the Teres Major, which I had never heard of before, and ended up buying it after he explained it so beautifully. I also bought a couple crab cakes and their house made remoulade sauce. Everything was so delicious..and my son dipped EVERYTHING in the remoulade.I will be the first to admit that I have always been super intrigued by the idea of butcher shops with artisan goods, but have never really shopped at them because I had the preconceived mindset that they were overpriced and much more expensive than the grocery store. That absolutely was NOT the case here. I was pleasantly surprised with how affordable everything was, dare I say even more so then the regular grocery store for certain things...and for a much more superior product. I bought 2 teres major steaks, 3 crab cakes, and a container of housemade remoulade sauce for $32!! I will 100% be including a stop at the Chop Shop in my weekly food shopping.

Went for the first time last Saturday. The woman at the cash register wasn’t particularly happy or friendly but the butcher was excellent. Got some Terres Major steak and a couple of Crab Cakes. They were a bit on the pricey side but so worth it! Flavor of both was excellent highly recommend this place!

Our family loves to cook at home vs. dining out, especially as crazy as our local restaurants get! So we don’t mind spending on fresh quality Prime meat/poultry/seafood. There’s almost always something new and interesting to try and some of the prepared items are big time savers (think étouffée). Really appreciate the local products and fresh produce too. The butchers and staff have always been kind and helpful. The loyalty rewards are icing on the cake!

Their food is second to none!We drive 80 miles each way to come get their burgers, specifically the datil bacon burgers. The sweet heat especially when cooked on my smoker is second to none!We are customers for life. I’m partial to their business anyways as I had done some aluminum work for them in the past, and since they supported our business I’m happy to support them.The only qualm I’ve ever had about the place was just this past weekend, we purchased 40 of their datil bacon burgers, so far the first 8 have 0 heat to them so far, my 5 year old ate one and it didn’t bother them. A bit let down as we crave that heat and sweating lol hoping next time they’re back to normal as that would sway me from getting those particular burgers again.All in all I would highly recommend!

Great selection of quality fresh meats, prepaired sides, spice mixes, and charcuterie.
