Tacos La Mexicana - St. Andrew's Parish

Small and quaint. Some may call it a hole in the wall and we all know those are some of the best places to eat. This restaurant does not disappoint. Enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, even calamari are all offered on the menu. Mexican sodas can be found in the cooler. We orders the Plato del Fish Tacos (3) and Steak quesadilla for two of us. Both were very yummy, my only complaint would be that the salsa and guacamole were not homemade. We sat outside as it was very hot inside, no A/C, doesn't get more authentic than that.

I 've been going here for a while and love it. The Spicy Beef Burrito is a flour tortilla (sad it ain 't corn), green onion, bean, mexi rice, cheddar cheese and sour cream. I don 't know how they do it but when you eat this thing and get to that sour cream in the middle, it 's cold, and super tasty. This is perfectly paired with a Jarritos Mexican Cola and you are transported to the streets of Cancun at 5 in the morning hoping someone doesn 't mug you because you are enjoying this burrito. The Fish taco and chicken taco is surprisingly tasty as well. They are small and easy to pour hot sauce all over. Perfect with another bottle of Jarritos. This place compared to another great mexican restaurant Tres Carnales is on par. While this place may have slower service cause only one person is working here most of the time, the wait is worth it. Plus parking here isn 't a pain and the hours are better tuned for late nights. While quality may be a little lower than tres carnales, just realize it 's still a taco and this place serves them up real tasty. I mean like they can 't have bad tacos when their name is just tacos. The only reason this place wont get the prestigious Just eat it review is price. It 's the same price as canales when I 've been to a comparable place in kelowna for a much lower price. Flights to Kelowna are on sale at 150 btw. Located just south of whyte ave near the shoppers drug mart, it 's a short stumble to get to when drunk. It 's the best place for mexican food in the area with a cozy interior. I suggest eating outside during the summer hours on little tables like a mexican Tony Soprano. Sal says: Just try it

I think the taste of it is good. But it is just that when I went in, the lady was dropping garbage and then she washed her hand without soup or hand sanitizer and then started making taco for me.

I like small little hole in the wall eateries, as well as classy culinary overrated restaurants. When I want a quick fix or late night Mexican with a bit of variety that 's NOT in the form of a soggy burrito, I always come here. The veggies have always been fresh and crisp, and my friends have never complained about the meats. They have a grill they cook meat on, so that 's an added touch. The flavour knocks any other Other franchise Mexican out of the park. Be warned that if you ask for spicy, it is spicy! Seems authentic, somehow. One downfall is I think they need pour bleach water down their bathroom drains. I was a little turned off after coming here a few times before I toured the bathroom. In any event, its as clean as any Burger Baron in the city, and I always leave feeling fabulous and satisfied wishing I would have ordered more tacos!
