Bidrage med feedbackThe food from Petite Saigon has been absolutely wonderful on the numerous occasions which we have eaten or gotten takeaway food. The staff are always happy to tell our family which choices are gluten free and vegetarian. The Pho is absolutely wonderful and have it nearly every time I eat here.
I recently had my birthday dinner at Petit Saigon with friends and I was extremely impressed with the service and food. The waiter was very attentive, especially since many in our group were dining there for the first time. He expertly paired entrees and mains, allowing everyone to enjoy their favorite dish while also trying something new.
As recommended the family met there for a Sunday lunch. Yes the lunch specials are cheap but it's very small portions. The food took a long time to come as there appears to be only this old couple running the whole place. The Vietnamese famous pho is no where near the real thing. The pork chop is such a small portions that even it's cheap it is not worth the $12. Also please be careful if you are going there on the weekends daytime, the weirdest "clearway" hours have been imposed for the weekend so if you park your car outside the restaurant on Mona Vale Road your car may be tolled. Disappointed that the restaurant did not warn us even though they obviously knew the toll track comes out at 2:00pm on Sunday. The cost of that fine per vehicle would be over $400.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at this restaurant last Wednesday. Fortunately, we made a reservation as it was completely full. The food was fresh, delicious, flavorful, and affordable. This restaurant is exactly what the upper north shore needs - mouthwatering dishes at reasonable prices in a laid-back atmosphere. The fact that you can bring your own beverages is a bonus. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. This will definitely be a regular spot for us. Our favorite dish was the pancakes.
Asked to be taken here for my birthday lunch. Asked very enthusiastic staff-owners (who gave up their day jobs for love of cooking family restaurant-worthy recipes) to recommend menu which I probably wouldn't have picked but turned out to be wonderful quickly delivered, spicy, exciting meal of many dishes - came out to $17 each which included a free condensed coffee for dessert. Other diners were business people on lunch meeting, a father with a young daughter, a group of shopping friends, a couple, and a birthday event. Came out very happy, extremely full with money in our pocket. Nice to have parking at centre too. Definitely recommend it.Just read the great full page journalist review on this restaurant in 'Local Chronicle' this week - makes me want to go back straight away!
