Bidrage med feedbackWe were very happy with our lunch at this restaurant. The dumplings were delicious and definitely worth the price. The food was fresh, well-cooked, and the atmosphere was nice.
The restaurant recently underwent a name and menu change, which may also have included a change in management. We decided to try out their new offerings for a quick lunch. We ordered the braised ox-tails with red wine sauce, as well as the stir-fried mixed vegetables with garlic. Both dishes were surprisingly good, with the ox-tails and red wine sauce standing out for its fusion of European and Chinese flavors, incorporating shallots and garlic. The service and atmosphere were decent for a casual restaurant located in a shopping mall, and they accept credit card payments (excluding AMEX) with a 1.2% surcharge. I returned to the restaurant for a second visit, this time to try their lunchtime dim sum delicacies such as panda custard buns, prawn rolls, BBQ pork, and chicken feet. Similar to our first visit, the dishes were all good quality for a suburban casual restaurant, but on the pricier side. The Chinese tea provided was of good quality, and the service from the staff remained top-notch.
Amazing food and excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is the top Chinese dining spot in the area.
Not sure if this restaurant has recently been taken over as it is now called Silk. My wife and I were with another couple and we were shown to our table by a friendly staff member and asked if we wished to order drinks, which we did. The good service ended there. The serving of the meals was very disappointing, with them all being delivered to the table at different intervals. On a positive note, the quality and presentation of the food was excellent. It now came time to pay the bill which was $161.00 for the four of us. With a tip we increased it to $170.00. On arrival at the counter we asked for $85.00 to be taken off each of two credit cards. We were advised that they do not accept split bills. At this point I made the following comment to a member of the staff. You have two choices, you either accept $85.00 from each credit card or we walk out of here with a free meal as we have no cash We were then told that there was a card in the window prior to entering the restaurant that stated they do not accept split bills. Also a card at the counter where you pay the bill stating the same. I would point out at this time that the card in the window was in the bottom of the right hand window and not at the main double door central entrance to the restaurant. Eventually after a long argument with a staff member who kept saying that their system couldn 't handle splitting a bill in two, a miracle happened, he split the bill in two. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN, Which is a pity, as the quality of food is very good.
Ate at the Silk Chinese previously known as Lan Yuan. So much better!!!! Food was tasty, more affordable and definitely not greasy. Friendly staff. We had long beans with pork, pork ribs and lemon chicken with special fried rice. Also have many specials and good assortment of seafood. Definitely give them a go
