Railway 10 Vicarage Road - ST. AGNES

We have booked 3 days in advance over opentable for a table for 4 people (mich self, partner and our two little children 7 and 5 years old) on the 2nd juni. when we arrived, the owner told us that they did not use the opentable booking service to avoid honoring the booking. he said they were full and while he apologised, there was no solution on this busy bank holiday night. we tried a few other pubs in the village, but inevitable on a bank holiday everywhere was full. we found the less than helpful attitude of the owner very annoying, especially in the name of our little children. I hope that this problem can be solved so that others do not have the same experience.

In the arrival and the personal to say that we had a booking, they said “the online booking system does not work and the kitchen is closed anyway.” Although they apologised, we were on a hiking holiday and without dinner and no transport to get anywhere. not impressed that they knew that the booking system didn't work, but did nothing of it.

When we arrived at the pub for our dinner reservation, we were told that they were short workers and no bookings for eating. we were recommended that their internet has played and no bookings received and forget to remove the possibility of online booking. her preference was the phone booking. they offered us a pizza, but when it was a Sunday, we had set ourselves up for a frying dinner. we had a drink in the pub before we drove to the st agnes hotel where we had the pleasure of getting a table for 2 shortly before the service was finished. we had an excellent frying beef dinner.

They cancelled without telling us!!!!!!!!!!! If we hadn’t gone there the week before to pay a deposit we wouldn’t have known and turned up at 2pm on Christmas Day to find no dinners. There was nowhere in the vicinity to book another but your company kept sending us confirmations

Arrived at the allotted time only to find that food was not being served that day because the chef had fallen unwell the day before. We had booked the table for a special occasion and my friend had travelled from Devon just to be there. Whilst I understand that it could not be helped, I am extremely annoyed that I was not contacted. It was too late to find another pub. I will not be attempting to book again.
