Cafe Brood - Southwark

We visited Borough Market for the first time and had plenty of dining options to choose from. We decided to try out Brood and both ordered the seafood paella for lunch. It was absolutely delicious and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was a bit crowded when we arrived but the experience improved as we dined. The prices were very reasonable as well. We highly recommend this place!

The restaurant prioritizes style and location over quality ingredients: the oversized veggie burger was disappointing, with a frozen potato patty, dry bun, and bland hummus. The falafel lacked flavor and texture, with no crunch, and the halloumi fries were also dry and unexciting. However, meat-eaters appeared to enjoy their meals.

The staff provided excellent and friendly service with a smile. Although we only planned to have drinks, we ended up ordering a sharing platter and some sides. The food was of great quality and delicious. We will definitely return in the future.

Friendly service, excellent food (paella especially good). Very helpful in accommodating two children and finding seating.

Great for a few drinks and fabulous food! The staff made a huge effort to accommodate the 9 of us without a reservation. Service, drinks jugs of cocktails and Prosecco were all good. A couple of us ordered food and it looked so good the rest of us ordered more to share! Will definitely be returning to this lovely cafe/bar!
