Bidrage med feedbackWe were seated at a table by the window as requested. There was a dry olive tree next to us in a pot with a dirty plastic tag indicating its origin. When asked for our drink orders, I requested water and later a chardonnay, while my husband ordered a cider. We were surprised to be served water in small, cheap blue glasses, with a straw in mine. My husband was satisfied with his unopened cider and ended up pouring his water onto the olive tree. He enjoyed the bug entree, although he found it to be on the smaller side. I opted for the three-in-one oysters, which were delicious, but the kilpatrick and natural varieties were overly salted. My chardonnay was unpleasant to drink, but I hoped it would pair well with the seafood. My husband was pleased with his reef and beef main course. I ordered barramundi with butter and lemon sauce, chips, and vegetables. The vegetables and sauce were excellent, but I was disappointed with the barramundi, as it was dry, thin, and not quite what I expected. I decided to order another wine to share with my husband, who had ordered another cider, but unfortunately, the wine was also unpalatable.
Well...we have given this restaurant three chances now...which is probably one more than it deserves. Everything about it is average or below. On our first visit I metioned on here how the prawn coktail had ONE prawn...we at least got three this time round. There are so many better places to go...but people keep buying us gift vouchers as presents....which means Good Marketing if nothing else.
My wife and I usually go to the Galaxy restaurant for special occasions. However, yesterday's visit was disappointing. The meals were very average and not up to the usual standard we have come to expect. We're not sure if they have changed chefs recently. After this experience, we will have to reconsider whether we want to return in the future.
We were on the coast for a week, and ate dinner here twice as we had to go back for more. Both times the food and the service were amazing. Definitely recommend.
We have been on the Gold Coast dining out every night for the past 9 nights, this is by far one of the best places we have been, the staff are lovely and take the time to stop and speak with you. I believe we were speaking to the owners and we loved that, a sense of pride in their restaurant! We got the seafood platter each and it was wonderful a good touch of everything on your plate. Cocktails were yummy! Overall we loved the place and glad we decided to stop in. We will be sure to tell family and friends visiting the GC to visit. Ps: don’t forget to try that central Otago wine from New Zealand
