Bidrage med feedbackThe Old Ship Inn is a pleasant pub on Southport's Eastbank Street that has an attractive and traditional design as well as a comfortable and cosy drinking atmosphere inside. Inside, the pub itself is quite spacious despite not being particularly large and has a good range of different sofas and seating in which you can enjoy your drinks. Their selection of draught lagers and bitters are decent enough without being too impressive and are all pretty inexpensive. In terms of liveliness, it's not the busiest or loudest pub in Southport of a weekend, but there is entertainment on some weeknights and on Fridays and Saturdays sometimes so it's not so bad. If you're looking for a few quiet pints here though then it's a pretty solid place to go too.
The ship has a reputation for being rough, ive been going for years and while the patrons are a bit scary sometimes the place is free of ill feelings and intimidations and is overall nice and friendly. Its located right in the middle of town with plenty of public transport available down the road. They have a good selection of real ales and spirits and good old Stella! In the back is a lovely little sun trap beer garden with nice plants and shelter. Inside the pub is large they serve good hearty food and have a large pool table. The staff are really nice too. I met my fiance there so its a special place to me.
This pub is now called the new ship due to refurbishment, and reopening, good local
