Sweet Basil - Southern Pines

This charming little restaurant has delicious soups that I highly recommend! The food and service here are fantastic. I can't wait to visit again!

The restaurant has undergone some changes, but unfortunately not for the better. There is no table service - patrons must grab a menu upon entering, seat themselves, and then go to the register to place their order. After a 45-minute wait, the food arrived in disposable containers with plastic utensils. The tuna pasta salad was disappointing, lacking tuna but drowning in mayonnaise. My husband's chef salad was filled with roast beef instead of the usual ham and turkey. The prices were high considering the poor quality of the food and service. It's unlikely this establishment will survive in the long run.

Not too sweet at sweet Basil!! Crabby service, starofome take out plates. No one ever even asked if we liked anything. $50 dollar lunch with the worst Ruben sandwich I ever had, The only thing you tasted was cheap cheese, I?ve always wanted to eat here but during Covid it was always closed. Now I have had my fill with this place, and will not be coming back. !! .

This used to be my favorite place to eat. No more. Rude hostess. No specials. No service. No friendly staff. No people. If it doesn?t change I won?t be back. I might go for the grilled eggplant sandwich sometime. You may as well get it to go since you get it in to go plates anyway. It was almost 50.00 dollars for two people for lunch. Too much.

If you go at lunchtime be prepared to wait a while. However, it's totally worth the wait. BEST fries I have had in YEARS!!!!!! Everything was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend. It's a little pricey but again, totally worth it!!!! Love, love, loved it!!!
