Bidrage med feedbackI had a fantastic Sunday roast at this restaurant, starting with tasty mussels as an appetizer and ending with a delicious roly poly pudding. The meal was great value for the price and served with a lot of care.
Went here for lunch yesterday as a guest of three others and therefore decided not to comment or complain about the food or service. I ordered a steak pie and a bottle of Corona beer. It took three visits to our table for staff to grasp the nature of our drinks and I was finally served with a Peroni. One of my fellow diners tried to justify this by saying that she thought the server was new. The steak pie arrived and the lid of it was very dry and very white yes, I mean really white, not brown as might be expected. The steak meat was generally luke warm, but in a couple of spots , stone cold due to insufficient time in the microwave. The chips and peas were luke warm, presumably because they were waiting for the white pie lid yo be cooked! I ate very little of the meal, just enough so as not alarm the people who had treated me to the delight. To be fair, I noticed other tables tucking into platefuls of pasta swimming in too much sauce. My other diners seemed happy enough with their toasted sandwiches. One of them even decided to book a table there for Christmas day, a bargain at £60!! Rather them than me! Great location, but I shall only go there for coffee in the future.
Took my elderly mum here for her birthday we were a party of five. We hadn't been here before but love the location and the drive along the coast to get there. We'd booked a table. We did have a nice visit, but it simply isn't a restaurant, despite the name. It's a cafe and no more than that. You order your food at a desk and give them a table number. My sister asked for the wine list and the member of staff looked utterly blank. I was very disappointed in this restaurant, but it was fine as a cafe. We went past the function room all ready for a wedding and it looked lovely : Would return for a coffee, but think the name is very misleading. Very disappointed at my choice for a special birthday :
I have been a frequent visitor to this cafe over the years. It has a beautiful view overlooking North Shields and the sea, with panoramic views. It's a great place to enjoy coffee and conversation. The menu is extensive and offers delicious options. The staff is friendly and the seating is comfortable, both inside and outside.
We stayed at the Little Haven Hotel and walked along the bay, wonderful day the sun just perfect, flat surface so walking is made easy.
