The Farmers Arms - South Ribble

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I visited for the carvery on Sunday and was not impressed. The restaurant appeared run-down and dirty, and the staff seemed unhappy and unfriendly. The food was disappointing, with tough beef, dried out stuffing, and lukewarm vegetables. The gravy was unappetizing. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to others.

We have been to the Farmers Arms several times in the past few years (parties of 4) and we have noticed that the standards are declining weekly. The restaurant's condition, both inside and out, is very poor. The men's toilets (we have not seen the ladies') are in a disgusting state with constant leaks in different areas, including the cubicles, and overall are very run down. The food quality is not up to par and during busy times they frequently run out of food in the self-service area. The staff are generally friendly, but there doesn't seem to be enough of them to provide good service to the customers. The company has neglected the property, which is a shame as it is located in a nice area. If these issues are not addressed soon, they will likely lose a lot of customers.

The meal was average, the portion of meat was decent. The vegetables were lukewarm, dry, and there were very limited options. The stuffing was dried up, the Brussels sprouts were tough, and the roast potatoes were rock hard. The mashed potatoes and cauliflower cheese were okay, but the cauliflower cheese was not worth the price.

Went for a family birthday on new years day our day was ruined by a rude small blonde bar maid who was working when we got there was rude and brusk did nothing to make us feel welcome made us feel like we was putting her out when asked for our orders Had to keep being told to give straws and lemon with our drinks I do believe a smile and manners cost nothing I have never had awful service like that there usually the staff are lovely and will go the extra mile for you the food always good she was just vile a little kid thinking she owns the place others customers said how rude she was she is the only member of staff I have never tipped. Stone house please get rid of her

Good value , friendly staff . Great breakfast. In a lovely area. Good carvery . Give it a go . Plenty of parking. Shots are good value if you want to get drunk. Enjoy
