The Rising Sun - South Oxfordshire

After hearing positive reviews through word of mouth, we decided to give this place a try. I ordered the pie of the week and my wife had a 6oz steak. Both dishes were delicious and the service was quick and friendly, all at a reasonable price. We definitely plan on returning.

I was part of a large group of runners and walkers who had lunch at this restaurant after our exercise. The restaurant is a typical English country pub, tucked away from the road but easy to find with signs, and with a large garden for outdoor dining. The interior is just as charming. Since we were a big group, we had all pre-ordered our meals. I opted for the 'vintage' offer, which included a smaller main course of chicken bacon Caesar salad and a reduced size dessert of chocolate brownie with ice cream for a fixed price, which was a great deal. We ordered our drinks and settled our bills at the bar, and then our food was quickly and efficiently brought outside to us. It was a lovely day, made even better by the good weather and delicious food.

We had a wonderful Sunday dinner at this restaurant. The beef was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We plan to return and enjoyed seeing that it is a dog-friendly pub. They welcome all furry friends!

Wow wow tasty tasty well seasoned pub food we were a big party to celebrate together cat and john and the team held the food come, and the drinks of the standard of eating and the service was so good that it reminded me of how British pubs were earlier. the food was hot and tastefully pissed! it felt like home! many thanks for such a wonderful day! we will be colleen again and michael

Warm and welcoming like a home from home! we visit this pub at special locations as it is an hour away from home, but it is always so worth the greeting they receive is so warm, the staff is incredibly friendly and efficient the atmosphere. is beautiful with a log fire that burns away and finally eating, hearty, large portions, well presented and easy feel as if they went back to home to “Mums” for dinner! I never order a roast everywhere, because nothing compares with my mums, but here is the only exception! Many thanks that they cate to us again hosting us and john was perfect as usual! I'm sure I'll be back soon! abigail and family xx
